Your portrait begins with your reference photo.

This guide will help you capture a clear, natural image so we can create a hand drawn, artistic interpretation of your child. A portrait that celebrates their presence, personality, and littleness.

What we need

Please submit:

• One or two clear, well lit photos

• Face turned to the side 

• A relaxed, gentle expression. Soft smiles are lovely, but no big grins

• Hair clearly visible around the face

• No filters

Taken in

• Natural daylight where possible

• Taking the photo at eye/ear level is essential: hold the camera perfectly in line with your child’s ear. This is the most important part. Even a slight angle from above or below can change the way the portrait looks.

• A neutral background is ideal.

What to avoid

• Blurry or low resolution images

• Heavy shadows across the face

• Please no sunglasses, hats, dummies etc. 

• Group photos where your child is small or partially obscured

• Photos taken from far away or zoomed in heavily

How to submit

When placing your order, please upload your reference photos in the designated section on the product page. We will choose the photo that best captures your child for the portrait.
